What application do you use to print the file and what do you mean by
long time, can you provide an example file and indication of the time
please. Also try with the example file to send the data that would go to
the printer:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#Getting_the_data_which_would_go_to_the_printer
directly to the printer:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#Sending_a_file_to_the_printer_unfiltered
and see if it takes the same amount of time to print. This would
indicate that your printer takes a long time to process the BR-Script3
which probably needs more memory in the memory slot of your printer to
speed that up. As an alternative according to the specifications of the
Brother HL5150d it also supports PCL6. So you can also try if a
different driver especially Foomatic/pxlmono or Foomatic/hpijs-pcl5e for
this B/W laser printer gives speedier results. Let us know which one
works best comparing speed and graphics output quality.
