I think you're going to need talk to NVIDIA about this one. If (and only if) they can reproduce your problem then they can probably tell you where the problem lies (I'm guessing one of the usual three places - kernel/xorg/NVIDIA binary driver). You will probably have to install their package if you do want to contact them (see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NvidiaManual for tips and warnings) and there are no guarantees but you never know. They will probably want you to make sure you're on the latest motherboard BIOS available (so check that beforehand).
