Binary package hint: gnome-session
For some reason the startup and shutdown sounds do not play even though
they are enabled in System>Preferences>Sound
Also the feisty-session-splashes are not showing and haven't been for a
while. I could care less since I have always found them useless and
they eat up precious resources that could be used to start the system.
I hope they are missing because they are being done away with, and if
that is the case then please remove the package feisty-session-splashes
from the default install.
I have no idea which package loads either session splash or
startup/shutdown event sounds so I chose this one. I hope I'm right :)
