Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I have a Sony Vaio CR120E/L with Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 installed.
I noticed bands of colors (e.g. in the login screen) which indicates
xorg is using less than 24bit colors. However, when I plug in an External
LCD Monitor (without changing my xorg.conf) and restart the computer, the
image in the laptop screen remains the same as before (with color bands),
but the image on the external display is very smooth, clearly 24 bits.
I'm using kernel 2.6.22-10, but the same thing happens with version
2.6.20-16-generic.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
