Adnane, thanks for this suggestion. However, this situation is different from the Gallery in two important ways.
First, as shown in the spec, the spinner and progress text may be above a list of updates that is already present. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SoftwareUpdates#Manually_checking> That means it can't reasonably be vertically centered as Dennis suggested. Second, once bug 1272313 is fixed there will be a "Stop" button opposite the progress text. It would be a bit weird if the position of that button depended on how long "Checking for updates..." was in your chosen language. So to answer Sebastien's question, the spinner and status text should be on the left, while the button is on the right. If the header appears over the top of the screen by default, please report that as a separate bug. I don't see that in r188. ** Changed in: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308663 Title: "Checking for updates…" should be horizontally aligned To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1308663/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
