Can you provide a cups error_log of the problem as described here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#CUPS_error_log,
preferably from Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS since 13.04 is no longer supported.
You can test without installing by using a ubuntu-desktop live-cd.
