My laptop's HDMI output worked perfectly with both video and audio in
trusty, but upon upgrade to utopic, the HDMI audio stopped working. It
shows up as an option in gnome sound prefernces (under nvidia GK107),
but selecting it keeps the audio output on the laptop speakers. It does
not show up as an option in the
https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/751/audio-output-switcher/ list
though.
