This was an install through the LIve desktop. The system didn't seem to reboot, though, but I have since shut down the computer. I should be able to recreate, although the crash has pretty much completely hosed the anything on the hard drive (win Xp pro). I did see a post on the Kubuntu forums about ubiquity wanting the entire hard drive, and since windows was the first one in, it made a it's own primary partition (10GB ntfs), and everything else into an extended partition (10GB raw, 10GB raw, 2BG raw, ~200GB ntfs... linux reported a 7.48MB primary partition near the end of the disk... weird).
