No... So, on my desktop which was new at the time, I could not get any speaker or headphone to produce sound through the built-in audio hardware, whether I used the front jack or back jack, plugged in a variety of speakers and headphones, etc. Pulseaudio could detect the hardware it seems, but I was not able to produce sound.
At the suggestion of a friend who has used Linux for much longer than me, I eventually worked around the problem by buying a $10 USB audio adaptor, which works, and promptly forgot to continue digging into this issue. :P It would be nice if I could find a real solution, though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023734 Title: [GA-78LMT-S2P, Realtek ALC887-VD, Green Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1023734/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
