Maybe the alternative menu editor "alacarte" does the job better. If you
want to edit a specific application launcher manually via text editor,
then go ahead and try to locate it in /usr/share/applications (global
ones) or ~/.local/share/applications (user ones).

So, do we agree that there is no bug in xfce4-settings? The settings
manager only displays app launchers which belong to the "settings"
category.
