The kernel from your ppa is not working for me. I installed:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:inaddy/sf00069767
$ sudo apt-get install linux-image-3.13.0-33-generic
$ sudo apt-get install linux-image-extra-3.13.0-33-generic
# rebooted into linux-image-3.13.0-33-generic
$ uname -a
Linux soni 3.13.0-33-generic #58hf00069767v20140730b1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 30
19:35:40 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ lsusb
