I am also experiencing this issue running a dual-monitor setup. I have found two workarounds that may be clues to the origin of the issue: 1) CTRL-ALT_F1 to get to terminal then CTRL-ALT-F7 to return to x session. Password prompt appears immediately. 2) use --disable-grab mode of gksu / gksudo. gksudo -g gedit works as expected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1323877 Title: gksudo slow with two monitors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1323877/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
