Removing ibus on regular ubuntu also wants to remove ubuntu-desktop, which is less than optimal. See bug #1365752. I don't know if it applies to lubuntu too.
I'm checking the dependencies there and actually the dependency is actually ubuntu-desktop -> unity-control-center -> ibus. If lubuntu allows you to remove ibus without removing core packages by all means reassign this bug to the ibus package, thank you.
