Hello tongr, For my part "greeter-show-manual-login" is enabled for several month and I have this issue every couple of days.
I'm testing Marco Trevisan's unity package (https://launchpad.net/~3v1n0/+archive/ubuntu/unity-tests), I installed it last monday and I haven't had this issue since.
