The same problem here about two weeks ago, but it's a shame to see the problem being still unsolved. I'm using Xubuntu 7.04 (amd64) with a 8800GTS.
As mmxbass already said this 'bug' is so annoying, because its just package. The problem was solved on five months ago, but the solution didn't reach the packages. I'm saying nothing new, but what Ari Torhamo and many others said, doesn't seem reach the the package maintainer.
