Due to some unfortunate versioning, the package libopenblas-base version 0.2.8-6ubuntu1 is used in trusty (version 14.04). However the official libopenblas bug containing the forked process hang, which I believe is what causes this, was not fixed until version 0.2.9. The version history is here:
https://github.com/xianyi/OpenBLAS/releases Some of the details of the history of this bug can be found here: https://github.com/xianyi/OpenBLAS/issues/294 Isn't trusty a long term support release? I would request a simple upgrade to openblas v 0.2.11 perhaps to eliminate this bug (and a few other bugs actually). OpenBlas is a critical library for anyone doing scientific programming or numerical analysis. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1186274 Title: openblas, multiprocessing and numpy freeze python processes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openblas/+bug/1186274/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
