I don't know. I can't edit the file due to permissions. When I installed this Ubuntu I added only one user and didn't set up the root account. Now when I'm trying to log in as a root it is said something like inaccurate login or password or something like that. I tried to edit the apparmour file using sudo but I failed because of permissions. Sorry, but when I was using PCLinuxOS 2007 the root account was created during installation of the system (at that time I could set up a password for the root and for the users so I knew the root password when needed). I think the solution known for PCLinuxOS 2007 is more new users' friendly.
I would be grateful if You post this message to the developers who work on the installation procedure in Ubuntu. I think it's worth to change the default way of installation and add the possibility to create a root account as it is in PCLinuxOS 2007. I know that there were similar problems and suggestions on some Ubuntu and Mint forums. I don't know who is responsible for such a changes. Could You help me and post this suggestion to the right person? In my opinion it's worth to consider because if accepted Ubuntu would be more intuitive and user friendly. Thank you anyway. BTW: It seems that all the problems with Brother printers on Gusty are caused by AppArmour (see also my log attached to the one of the bug descriptions). But could you explain me why I was able to make my Brother printer work on Gusty despite AppArmour (as you well know I changed only the default driver as described before) ? Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I'm new Linux user, but I do want to help to make it better. I tried a couple of distributions and I think that Ubuntu is getting closer to became an ideal Linux distro for every user and I'd like to help with that. 2007/9/5, Pascal De Vuyst <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > > Probably caused by bug #133818. > Does the workaround > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cupsys/+bug/133818/comments/5solve > these issues? > > ** Changed in: cupsys (Ubuntu) > Assignee: (unassigned) => Pascal De Vuyst > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > (Gusty) CUPS: imposible to cancel or hold printer jobs > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/137586 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > -- (Gusty) CUPS: imposible to cancel or hold printer jobs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/137586 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
