Ok, I can reproduce this. I am fully up to date with Gutsy Tribe 5 as of September 5, 10:30 PM, Mountain Standard Time.
I moved my .mozilla folder aside and do the following: 1) Run firefox this way -- I can try another way if a dev prefers it /usr/lib/firefox/run-mozilla.sh -g /usr/lib/firefox/firefox-bin -d gdb 2>&1 | tee gdb-firefox-crash.txt 2) Enter the debugging info into gdb as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace 3) I don't import any bookmarks from other browsers. (1st time setup because I moved ~/.mozilla) 4) Paste in URL http://www.et.byu.edu/groups/it466/schedule.htm 5) Double click "Google Concept Mapping" in the first notes cell. Firefox now crashes 6) Enter the rest of the gdb stuff from the wiki At least tonight I can reproduce this crash every single time. :-) Since I moved my .mozilla folder, I don't have any Firefox plugins installed. I also removed the flash and java plugins prior to running this test (it crashes exactly the same with them installed or not). System notes: P4 3 GHz, 1GB RAM I think this box started as an Edgy box, but it might have been a Feisty beta. I had turned the computer only only a few minutes before performing this test. I do have a handfull of freebie fonts in my home directory, but none of them is DejaVu anything. Other: When I just run "firefox" from the command line, I get the following: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp$ firefox (gecko:9962): Pango-WARNING **: failed to create cairo scaled font, expect ugly output. the offending font is 'DejaVu Serif Oblique 11.9990234375' Segmentation fault (core dumped) [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp$ Please let me know what I can do. I don't have a ton of time, but could invest a couple of hours if it would help squash this bug. Konqueror is OK, but I miss Firefox. ** Attachment added: "gdb backtrace for firefox crash" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9144681/gdb-firefox-crash.txt -- MASTER firefox crashed [EMAIL PROTECTED]::Paint] [EMAIL PROTECTED]::PaintChild] [EMAIL PROTECTED]::PaintChildren] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
