Great that this is fixed on pgbouncer 1.5.2 but latest version on Ubuntu 12.04 is still 1.4.2. This caused major headache today for me because of a forced Rackspace maintenance reboot which deleted /var/run/postgresql and I had to recreate it manually on every reboot now. Such strong issues like missing directories for running services should be fixed also for 1.4.2 in Ubuntu 12.04 IMHO.
