Okay, so it's useful for engineers and testers. I can imagine plenty of
other functions fall into that category. For example, app developers
might want to delete all the app's data files, to test the first-run
flow. They might want to simulate running the app on a previous-
generation phone, or on the last Ubuntu version that was released for a
particular handset. They might want to make a slow-motion screencast of
their app to check animations. They might want to test whether data
migration works properly for someone who missed out on v2.0 of the app
and upgraded directly from 1.1 to 3.0. And so on.
So perhaps we need a trusted app to house functions like this.
