I feel this problem is much bigger than "just" LibreOffice. I have a freshly installed Ubuntu 14.04.1 with KDE desktop, and I cannot print to a printer that requires authentication from anything that I have tried, except Firefox. All other applications that I've tried fail to print, including "lpr" and "lp" on the command line.
So I believe this bug should be brought to the attention of KDE developers and probably cups also.
