I have returned to school and allowed kubuntu go through all the updates (server and client) and still no luck. I checked to see if /etc/group and passwd had the necessary +:::'s in them and they do and the number of colons is correct. I can still ypcat passwd and see the users on the server, but none can log in.
I am desparate as I need these computers to be able to handle log in for my students. I do not want to create the accounts on the workstations. I would appreciate any assistance at this point. What would you like me to post at this point. I kind of feel out of the loop a bit.
