I've tested with the following kernels and it works much better. linux-image-3.15.10-031510-generic linux-image-3.16.4-031604-generic linux-image-3.17.0-031700-generic
-16 and -17, I could not test for more than a day since I had segfaults. -15 I've been running for 2 and a half days and the issue is not even noticible.
