Hi,
I had a similar problem recently. I tried to partition a new 500 GB disk into
sda1 with 6 GB and sda2 with 494 GB. There was no problem with sda1 but when I
set sda2 to the rest of 494 GB I found that the partitioner had set it to 64 GB
instead. I did repeat this several times but it always behaved the same way. I
had to partition the disk with fdisk eventually. This was with the Feisty 7.04
amd64 image.
