Hello, may be an uefi problem. I have tested to boot with an encrypted
bios-boot stick. Not perfect, but may be work.... Further investigation is
needed.
Then i have made a binary copy of the initrd from the stick to my
(uefi)-harddisk. Now I must boot without splash ! and enter the passphrase in a
totally blank screen. After X is up, the system is usable.
Looking in a grub shell after initial-boot, the video-environment is totally
different in bios and uefi mode. UEFI runs in higher resolution. May be a
problem for the kernel.

So cryptosetup on my uefi-pc is really unusuable. Don“t know, how to make
further tests.
The only thing i can say, in ubuntu 14.04 i can normally boot with splash
screen and normal passphrase input.

Regards, Alfredo
