New to these forums. The machine is a test machine to use with HEAVY 3D graphics and animations. Testing Unity and OS for stability. I think these errors may be coming from the Ubuntu install program and happens when you attempt to override installer defaults. The system has 2 physical hard drives. I made several install attempts trying to learn the partition utility as part of install. I think that BOTH drives were set up while experimenting and the confusion may come about a a result of system crashes or hard resets? IDK, I'm fishing here. During installation as a first time Ubuntu user I was surprised that the install doesn't let you create mounts for the file systems you define on a second drive? The install didn't recognize the encrypted /home partition on the larger second drive, complained and home was mounted on the first smaller drive. I accepted this knowing it can be changed later. So, the swap is encrypted. I wonder how many users are reporting on similar issues with encrypted swap or don't know they have any. My very large 1T encrypted /home partition is not mounted at all. I just decided to let this ride in order to try the rest of the system at the time. I know brevity is appreciated, but this one might have to be long to get started. No fear here, as this is an empty machine at this point. However, there are many other issues on this machine as well. Attached is a long file showing disks, etc because I don't think this issue has been solved at the root problem, and is not showing many users affected simply because they are taking the default installation without knowing that it is happening. I think the priority on this issue should be raised since it is a core function in a long term release, but I might be wrong ;-)
