I am trying to get the extra information on the Lenovo X1 Carbon wireless switch bug, and I had followed your link to http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D and picked v3.18-rc2-utopic (seems like the latest). I've installed the kernel, it shows up as an option in grub but hangs while booting. I have full-disk encryption though dm_crypt as configured by Ubuntu installer, and I normally get the password prompt within a second from booting. If I select mainline kernel, it never gets to the password request part. Is there anything you can suggest? I've tried googling but nothing useful came up.
