Why should that bug be fixed? It is surely neither fixed upstream nor in Debian and https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/aptitude/+changelog does not mention any fix.
And I can easily reproduce this issue in a downloaded 14.10 live CD booted in kvm.
