It sounds like something is going wrong when whoopsie-preferences times
out then—can you make it happen at will if you kill it manually? I've
tried it and I still can't I'm afraid.

I looked at the code and I don't immediately see where a problem might
lie.

What if you poke whoopsie manually using gdbus instead of using the
system-settings UI - is it always right then?
