of course, this should be set correctly and work out of the box. But before a fix is applied we need to really understand the whole problem and make sure it will indeed be fixed 100% with a given change.
the problem with the live CD is that once you log out the CD shuts down the computer? If so, please ask in IRC how to do what you need to do.
