Sorry, my mistake. I drew the wireframe thinking "0000 is the most
common value, that should be the default". Then I wrote the text, and
thought "hey, we can just try 0000 automatically for those devices
before even showing the dialog". But I never realized that that means
0000 should *not* be the default for the dialog. It would be the only
value we know isn't going to work!

So, the field should be empty by default. Specification updated.
