I'm having the same problems, without any error messages in /var/log/messages. Also on a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3.
Mine is detected like this in Gutsy too: 04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Unknown device 4364 (rev 12) I can't remember how it was reported in Feisty. Setting to confirmed. This needs to be addressed and I know it's not just me.
