Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

todays (sept 11) dist-upgrade on 7.10 tribe 5 updated last yesterday (10 sept)
was on my machine a partial upgrade
(i do not understand why and it would be a nice idea to indicate what the
reason for the partial upgrade is. this would allow users to de-install
software they do not use, but blocks the update)

the dist-upgrade did open a window and the completion bar went all the way to
the right - but then stalled and nothing further happens.
no error message, nothing.
if i return to the window - it is grey except for the title bar.

i did restart the system and did run the update manager a second time - same
effect.
what can i do to correct this?
