Proper dynamic power management for your Radeon HD 4670 was introduced
in the 3.11 kernel (when used in conjunction with the appropriate
updated firmware files), which reduces temperature and fan noise.
Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" is based on the 3.13 kernel and includes the
necessary firmware files.
