I've been suffering this bug for months now. Today I noticed some issues with window animations before it happened, and it came to my mind that it might be compiz-related. I killed compiz and the login screen was gone, without losing the unity session. It's the first time that I manage to go back to my session without losing the data.
This is a Sony Vaio running Ubuntu 14.04.1 with dual monitor. After that, when the screen lock appeared again, the password field was there. This seems to me a better workaround than unity --replace, if it proves to work consistently. Worth trying it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1311316 Title: After locking screen there is no input field to type password for unlock To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1311316/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
