Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xdg-user-dirs

Currently my entire directory listing has lowercase folders for easier
scripting purposes.

When I upgrade from Feisty to Gusty during Tribe 3 and then again in
Tribe 5 (after i wiped back to Feisty), there was, both times, a problem
with xdg-user-dirs.

You see, xdg-user-dirs created folder such as "Videos", "Documents",
"Downloads", among others, and place the folders in the Places menu.

Once I saw those folders, and noticed they were direct duplicates of the
"videos", "documents", "downloads", etc. folders that I already have, I
deleted them.

This removed them from the Places menu as well. Well I like that feature
having the most important folders in the Places menu, but once I deleted
your pre-made folders, how do I get it back?

I suggest 2 options:
1) Give the ability to add/remove these folders whenever the person likes,
either by using automatic detection or by using a preferences dialogue. What
happens if the person accidentally deleted the folder and realized they wanted
it back? Would they have to edit a config file?
2) If the script DOES have automatic detection for those folder names (which it
appears it does not), it should check all sorts of variations on the names. The
most common for documents would be: "Documents", "documents" "my_documents",
"my documents", "My Documents". Those all should be used in this script,
especially if the user already has files in them. A rename of their folder is a
possibility but it's also an invasion if they have certain scripts set up, or
any other preferences that depend on the folder name being exact (such as Wine
and OpenOffice.org).
