Hmm, I'm not sure I follow exactly how you are getting this freeze. A
few questions:
1. When you say "notifications", do you mean the indicators on the top right of
the screen such as time, volume, session, etc?
2. Are you using a mouse, touchscreen, or something else?
3. When you say the boarder line, do you mean to the left, right, top, or
bottom of the area you are trying to access?
4. Could you attach ~/.cache/upstart/unity8.log after this freeze occurs?
5. What brand of graphics are you using, ie, Intel, Nvidia, or AMD/ATI?
