This seems to be a wake-up problem on some (probably older) printer models.
Usually, a printer should wake up from power-saving mode simply by sending a job (or even any kind of status or ink level request) to the printer, a special wake-up command should not be needed. But one never knows whether there are printers needing a wake-up command or printers with a hardware/firmware bug. Can someone of the HPLIP developers at HP have a look into this and perhaps let HPLIP somehow precede print jobs with some wake-up command, at least for printer groups where this is needed or even to all printers where it is safe? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241781 Title: hp photosmart 7450 communication problems.
