Public bug reported:

running ubuntu gnome 14.10 x64.
behind a residential cable modem with ipv6 and ipv4.

having vpn trouble. previously (in another country) every vpn connection
worked flawlessly.

bitmask: https://bitmask.net/
0.6.0. client can connect, pinging google.com over the terminal works and
returns an ipv4 address.
pinging duckduckgo.com just returns the ipv4 address but no pings.
no connectivity in firefox and chromium.
once i disable ipv6: http://askubuntu.com/a/381623/212688 and do: sudo sysctl
-p.
connection fails.

cryptofree via network-manager:
https://cryptostorm.org/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=6374
can connect http://test-ipv6.com/ shows ipv6 leakage, but apart from that, okay.
once i disable ipv6 connection still works.

ipredator.se ipv4 server via network-manager: https://ipredator.se/
can connect, pinging google.com over the terminal works and returns an ipv4
address.
pinging duckduckgo.com just returns the ipv4 address but no pings.
no connectivity in firefox and chromium.
sometimes starts loading sites in firefox, but won't complete loading (nothing
visible)
once i disable ipv6, the behaviour stays the same.

ipredator.se ipv6 server via network-manager: https://ipredator.se/
can connect, pinging google.com over the terminal just returns unknown host.
pinging duckduckgo.com just returns unknown host.
no connectivity in firefox and chromium.

i tested bitmask from an ubuntu gnome 14.10 x64 live usb, result is the same:
can connect, pinging google.com over the terminal works and returns an ipv4
address.
pinging duckduckgo.com just returns the ipv4 address but no pings.
no connectivity in firefox and chromium.

i tested bitmask from an ubuntu gnome 14.04 x64 virtual image, result is the
same:
can connect, pinging google.com over the terminal works and returns an ipv4
address.
pinging duckduckgo.com just returns the ipv4 address but no pings.
no connectivity in firefox and chromium.

something is going on, but what?
i clearly remember using bitmask and other openvpn connections directly over
the network manager at least before upgrading to 14.10.
something changed.
any idea what i can do to get my vpn working again? it looks like even going
back to 14.04 would not fix it, granted i only tested bitmask there...

** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu)
