Public bug reported:

When I start the maintenanace task or let the cron job run, apt-cacher-
ng often stops on 'Parsing metadata ...' of some package and uses 100%
CPU. Unless stopped (service apt-cacher-ng restart), It keeps running
forever. I've left it running a few times for 3 or 4 days to see whether
it would recover, but it didn't.

lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Release: 14.04

apt-cache policy apt-cacher-ng
apt-cacher-ng:
  Installed: 0.7.26-1
  Candidate: 0.7.26-1
  Version table:
 *** 0.7.26-1 0
        500 http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/universe amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I expect that apt-cacher-ng completes the maintenance task and uses a
moderate amount of CPU time.

I've enabled Debug:7 in file acng.conf and attached my logfiles and
configuration.
