@Mathias It was a bit too late to aplly ypur patch to 3.18, then tere was a merge window, when noone applies anything like that. Now it is Christmas. i suugest you send it next year after the holidays.
My backport is downloaded about 10 times every day. Nobody report regressions. So people complain that it does not work, but in most cases they do not install it right.
