Same here. Removing appmenu-qt5 is not ideal, because the menu bar is no longer integrated in the desktop like with the other applications. I found a convenient workaround at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23916623/qt5 -doesnt-recognised-shortcuts-unless-actions-are-added-to-a-toolbar: just add the QAction returned by QMenu::addAction to the main window list of actions, using QWidget::addAction.
