Unfortunately, my test case isn't 100% reproducible. I haven't changed anything, but I have been unable to reproduce the problem tonight, even on the stock Trusty kernel.
On the mainline kernel, I can't get the VM to start at all unless I unmount the cgroups filesystem to force libvirt to not use cgroups. libvirt version 1.2.8 throws errors like this: libvirtd: 7815: error : cgm_enter:318 : cgmanager: cgm_enter for controller=cpuset, cgroup_path=machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0, pid=8134 failed: invalid request libvirtd: 7815: error : virCgroupAddTask:1304 : Failed to move 8134 to cpuset:/machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0 libvirtd: 7815: error : cgm_remove:126 : cgmanager: cgm_remove for controller=cpu, cgroup_path=machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0, recursive=1 failed: invalid request libvirtd: 7815: warning : virCgroupRemove:3569 : Error removing cpu:/machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0 libvirtd: 7815: error : cgm_remove:126 : cgmanager: cgm_remove for controller=cpuacct, cgroup_path=machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0, recursive=1 failed: invalid request libvirtd: 7815: warning : virCgroupRemove:3569 : Error removing cpuacct:/machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0 libvirtd: 7819: warning : qemuDomainObjTaint:1672 : Domain id=3 name='VM_NAME' uuid=0f2de0e7-1b11-489f-937d-d83febad0918 is tainted: custom-argv libvirtd: 7819: error : cgm_enter:318 : cgmanager: cgm_enter for controller=cpuset, cgroup_path=machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0, pid=8267 failed: invalid request libvirtd: 7819: error : virCgroupAddTask:1304 : Failed to move 8267 to cpuset:/machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0 libvirtd: 7819: error : cgm_remove:126 : cgmanager: cgm_remove for controller=cpu, cgroup_path=machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0, recursive=1 failed: invalid request libvirtd: 7819: warning : virCgroupRemove:3569 : Error removing cpu:/machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0 libvirtd: 7819: error : cgm_remove:126 : cgmanager: cgm_remove for controller=cpuacct, cgroup_path=machine/VM_NAME.libvirt-qemu/vcpu0, recursive=1 failed: invalid request -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1404409 Title: [regression] Intel 10Gb NIC Crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1404409/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
