DOES WORK, if I install ALSO the linux-image-extra... package. I write this

that kernel in comment #41. But as soon as I allow the udpate system to
replace this kernel
by the kernel in the normal 14.10 repository, then that offcial kernel does NOT
work.
Neither works 3.13.0-37-generic. But 3.13.0-36-generic works, using the same
root
partition.
