Accidentally bumped into a workaround... I was affected by this bug , <a href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1322925";>bug #1322925 </a> and <a href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1385292";>bug #1385292 </a> (seem similar or related).
It was suggested that IBus should be disabled.
