Re: my earlier post about blacklisting certain modules, it might be the case that I had actually worked around a version of bug #1389077 , since the main symptoms after upgrading to xorg-edgers were random I/O freezes (mouse, keyboard, audio, or graphics cutting out for a secord or so). I think more testing is required.
