Hi, I am following up to this bug report, because it seems like the armory package has not been removed from ubuntu as per my request. It has been over 2 months (almost 3) since I originally filed the bug report. Did I not do something I should have?
Just forget what I was saying about possibly pursuing an exception for armory. I just want it removed. Again, and in more detail, my rationalization is that armory is a Bitcoin wallet. Due to the nature of the software, I don't feel comfortable with armory in Ubuntu, because it will get out-of-date in stable releases of Ubuntu. Since the interaction between the outdated armory and current versions of other software (like Bitcoin Core) is untested, there may be bugs that can result in the loss of users' bitcoins. This is why it is imperative that armory be removed from Ubuntu before Vivid is released.
