I have the same problem like @MaxSpicer.
“I have upgraded from Ubuntu 14.04 to 14.10. My whole disk is encrypted
with luks and since the upgrade I have found I can no longer unlock my disk at
boot. The enter password screen appears, but typing does not cause any
characters to appear in the password boot”
I have kernel version 3.16.0-28-generic and 3.16.0-29-generic and I
still have the same issue. I can’t enter a password in the password
screen.
I have a temporary solution for this situation. I had to choose recovery
mode and next I can enter a password and choose option “resume a normal
boot”. But it is not a perfect solution.
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
