Public bug reported: Hello,
I have a 250 GB external hard drive, which was automatically detected and mounted by Ubuntu, but with Kubuntu I had to tweak it myself for it to work. What I did, was install ntfs-3g with APT and then add this command in fstab: /dev/sdb1 /media/hdd ntfs-3g auto,defaults,locale=en_US.utf8 0 0 (Solution found in ubuntuforums). Now as far as the necessary logs are concerned. Unfortunately, I can't provide them for you since the instructions here are GNOME only: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingRemovableDevices . Actually, I can't even tell you what model the Hard Drive is, since it's custom design from a local tech store and the only available info on the device is the store's name. The only related link that I can provide you is a Greek page for it: http://www.plaisio.gr/product.aspx?catalog=1&category=69976562&product=973386&tab=specs ** Affects: kubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ext. HD mounts in Ubuntu, but not in Kubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139510 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Team, which is a bug contact for kubuntu-meta in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
