Hello,

I have a 250 GB external hard drive, which was automatically detected and 
mounted by Ubuntu, but with Kubuntu I had to tweak it myself for it to work.
What I did, was install ntfs-3g with APT and then add this command in fstab: 
/dev/sdb1   /media/hdd   ntfs-3g   auto,defaults,locale=en_US.utf8    0     0
(Solution found in ubuntuforums).

Now as far as the necessary logs are concerned. Unfortunately, I can't provide 
them for you since the instructions here are GNOME only:

Actually, I can't even tell you what model the Hard Drive is, since it's custom 
design from a local tech store and the only available info on the device is the 
store's name. The only related link that I can provide you is a Greek page for
