I can't see an error from grub-install in the logs. Do you mean that is
the error that came up as a dialog towards the end of the installation?
The syslog seems to indicate an error in user-setup; that is, some
messages came up when setting up your username and password.
Could you please attach a screenshot or picture of the error you're
getting?
